The Swedish film company “Noble Entertainment” is preparing a DVD release of the movie “Velvet Revolution”. The movie is to be released under the title “Law of Corruption”.

The book “Time for Rage” was presented at the 69 Russian International Film Market, which took place in Moscow December 5 - 8, 2006.

One of the main Ukrainian TV channels “The Inter” started showing the director’s cut version of a Russian blockbuster “Velvet Revolution” on November 13, 2006.

The RFG movie company will take part in the American Film Market – the world’s largest motion picture trade event, – which will be held in Santa Monica, California from November 1 till November 8, 2006.

The 11th Pusan International Film Festival will take place October 12 – 20, 2006 in the city of Pusan, South Korea. Within the framework of this festival the Asian Film Market will be held October 15 – 18, 2006, where the RFG (ROSPOfilm Group) movie company presents its projects too.

German has become another language, which the heroes (and antiheroes) of the Russian blockbuster “Velvet Revolution” have started speaking.

The Alma-Ata traditional international film festival “Stars of Shaken” is a tribute to the memory of the patriarch of Kazakh cinema, an outstanding actor and film director Shaken Aimanov. This year two films of the movie company RFG have been selected for the competitive program: Oleg Stepchenko’s “Velvet Revolution” and Masha Ozerenko’s short-length movie “Nothing’s Ever Happened”.

The DVD with the director’s cut of “Velvet revolution” was released on June, 7 2006. The film lasts 4 hours, while the cinema version is only 2 hours long.

Fulfilling the order of the movie company RFG (ROSPOfilm Group) the Studio VisualBeat Production continues to work on a computer game, whose heroes are the characters of the full-length feature film “Velvet Revolution”, released in autumn 2005.

At the 8th International Festival “DetectiveFEST” the movie “Velvet Revolution” has won three awards. One of them was awarded to actor Alexander Yakovlev for his charismatic performance of the role of “antihero” Sors.

The 8th International Festival of Detective Films and TV programs on law-enforcement themes “DetectiveFEST” (“Law and Society”) took place April 19-23rd, 2006 in Moscow. The motion picture “Velvet Revolution”, which participated in the competitive program, has received three prizes in three nominations.

Cinematographer Maria Solovieva (see the photo; the movie “Velvet Revolution”) has been awarded the Professional Prize of the third exhibition “Cinema Production Service” in the nomination “Bravery In The Profession”. Unfortunately, this day (March 30th) Maria was filming, therefore the award was accepted on her behalf by Tatyana Plakhova, the representative of the Russian Guild of Cinematographers.

On March 23rd, 2006 the ceremony of awarding the Motion Picture Arts Award “The White Square” for Best Cinematography in a full-length feature film released in 2005 is to be held in Moscow’s Theatre “New Opera” in the “Hermitage Garden”.

The upcoming video and DVD release of the “Velvet Revolution” in Japanese is scheduled for May 2006. Particularly for this purpose the Russian movie has been dubbed into the Japanese language.

The pre-production has begun on the motion picture “Time For Rage”. This project is a continuation of the blockbuster “Velvet Revolution”. The screenplay of the movie has been written by Alexey A. Petrukhin (see the photo). The screenplay of the first “Velvet Revolution” was also based upon his idea. The co-authors of Alexey A. Petruhin are Dmitry Ivanov and Milana Kasakina.

The motion picture “Velvet Revolution” will be shown at the Russian film festival “Literature and Cinema”, which is to be held from February 24 until March 4 in the city of Gatchina, Leningrad region. The movie will be screened in the out-of-competition program “Panorama” on February 24, 2006.

The “Velvet Revolution” motion picture won the professional movie and video industry the “Blockbuster” Award in the “Tops at the Box-Office” category at the Award’s IX Ceremony. This movie grossed 7.2 million dollars at the box office (in Russia and the CIS).

In connection with new activities and wider international cooperation, as well as in accordance with our western partners’ recommendations, the management of the film company ROSPOFilm has decided to change the name of the film company: RFG (ROSPOfilm Group).

The film company RFG (ROSPOfilm Group) has released a CD with the original soundtrack to the movie “Velvet Revolution”. The collection on the CD presents twenty-five compositions.

Film company RFG (ROSPOfilm Group) will be one of the participants of the annual American Film Market (AFM), one of the larges in the world. Passions around “Velvet Revolution” are still on the rise, and yet Oleg Stepchenko is already working on his new project titled “Viy”, which promises to become the scariest film to come out of Russia this coming season.

As a part of Amur Autumn Film Festival in Blagoveshensk, Russia, Oleg Stepchenko attended master-class of Krzysztof Zanussi, the great Polish director. Mr. Stepchenko confessed that he is a big fan of Zanussi’s work and couldn’t miss the opportunity to communicate with the great director personally.

After years of restoration “Octyabr”' cinema in the very centre of Moscow, Noviy Arbat street, opened by the first night of “Velvet revolution”. As expected, the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov arrived at the unveiling ceremony of the cinema on September 8.

A special show of “Velvet revolution” took place on September, 6. The film was shown to the members of Federal Drug Control Service, Moscow criminal investigation department, Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) and other security agencies.

The first night of “Velvet revolution” took place at 8pm on August, 17, in Arclight Cinema in Hollywood. That was not an attempt to knock the spots off Hollywood, but the desire to let American audience get acquainted with the new Russian cinema.

Film company RFG (ROSPOfilm Group) has been making the most of efforts in quest of Oleg Taktarov, the actor lost in Namibia. The management of the company requested assistance from former military men, who had served round there and could suspect the ways of the missing shooting team.

The music score of “Velvet Revolution” composed by Anton Garcia, a famous modern Russian composer, will be performed by a full orchestra.
